Which Polymer Is It?
Abstract
This laboratory activity focuses on developing student skills in reading and creating flowcharts for experimental procedures. Students perform six chemical and physical tests on a variety of common polymer pellets, develop a flowchart to identify the polymer from the test results, and then test their flowchart against unknown polymers obtained from consumer products.
