Basic Terms of Probability

Abstract

For the next class period after learning the basic vocabulary and notation for sets, students will apply that vocabulary toward the task of determining the probability of an event. The course is an undergraduate mathematics course for social science majors, titled "Mathematical Topics in the Social Sciences." This activity is part of a unit on introductory probability. The course has no lab meetings.
