Approximate Integration I
Abstract
Topics in our Approximate Integration I activity are usually covered either at the end of Calculus I or in Calculus II. However, the intended audience here is Calculus II students. In model one, we review concepts from calculus I and model two introduce students to constructing formulas for the rules by themselves to enhance their understanding of the methodologies. Then in model three and four, students discover the methodologies that they haven't seen before in Calculus II while deriving formulas by themselves for the third model.
