Amoebic Parasites: Microscopic Organisms, Debilitating Effects
Life Cycle of Entamoeba histolytica
Abstract
This activity walks students through the life cycle of the amoebic parasite, Entamoeba histolytica. Students will learn about the various stages parasitic organisms enter and why parasites are considered “shape shifters”. A key goal of this activity is for students to understand how complex a single-celled organism can be.
