Abstract

This learning cycle activity is the third in a set of five activities introducing first-year pharmacy students to the topic of biopharmaceutics. Specifically, student will learn about drug absorption and the impact of the first-pass effect as well as use concentration gradients as model to understand the excretion of drugs as function of time. Students explore these foundational topics in a pharmaceutics course within the first couple of weeks in the professional pharmacy curriculum.
