Biopharmaceutics IV: Elimination Kinetics, Single Compartment
Abstract
This learning cycle activity is the fourth in a set of five activities introducing first-year pharmacy students to the topic of biopharmaceutics. Specifically, students will be introduced to basic principles of pharmacokinetics using a single compartment model to explain elimination drug kinetics, identify common algebraic forms, and interpret data and graphs to calculate pharmacokinetic parameters. Students explore these foundational topics in a pharmaceutics course within the first couple of weeks in the professional pharmacy curriculum.
