Abstract

This learning cycle activity would be likely be covered in an undergraduate Calculus 2 course during a chapter on integration techniques. It introduces and requires student to use Integration by Parts, which is related to the Product Rule for differentiation. After completing this activity, students should be able to 1) state the rule of integration by parts and determine expressions for u and dv, and 2) evaluate indefinite and definite integrals that use one or more iterations of integration by parts.
