Abstract

This activity is part of the study of integration techniques typically taught in an undergraduate Calculus 2 course. It is a learning cycle activity that provides rules for integrating products of powers of sine and cosine, products of powers of tangent and secant, and products of sines and cosines using various trigonometric identities. After completing the activity students should be able to 1) evaluate integrals that involve products of powers of sine and cosine, 2) evaluate integrals that involve products of powers of tangent and secant, and 3) evaluate integrals that involve products of sine and cosine.
