Constellations
Abstract
This activity occurs in an introductory Astronomy course that could occur at the high school or undergraduate level. This could be the very first activity in a unit on Nigh Sky Navigation, which could be the first unit of the course. Students will likely have a wide range of experience and prior knowledge about constellations. In this activity students will learn the difference between a constellation and an asterism using stars that are easy to see, even in light-polluted city skies.
