Abstract

Over the course of a traditional Calculus sequence, methods for computing integrals are a fundamental unit. One such topic in integration methods is Trigonometric Integrals, that is, integrals involving the multiplication of trigonometric functions. In this activity, we look to have the students explore Trigonometric Integrals, a topic that combines their prior knowledge in u-substitution and trigonometric identities. The goal of this activity is to get students thinking about strategies for approaching Trigonometric Integrals as well as work on their information processing and communication process skills.
